Our Latest Lingerie Finds

From Struggle to Empowerment

You’re curious. You’re nervous. You have questions you’re slightly embarrassed to Google. Good news: we answer them all day, every day.

What happens at a boudoir shoot?

Short answer: You arrive, get professional hair and makeup, pick outfits with your stylist, then spend 1–2 hours being guided through poses. At Elevation Boudoir, it’s just you, Rachel, and Justin in a private downtown Tuscaloosa studio — music on, laughing, shooting — then a same-day reveal where you choose your images.

One client per day. No rushing, no waiting room, no strangers. Read the full experience breakdown here.

Are boudoir shoots awkward?

Short answer: For about five minutes — then no. Every client says the nerves vanish once shooting starts. We talk you through everything, show you test shots as we go, and the awkwardness turns into “wait, that’s ME?”

How explicit is boudoir photography?

Short answer: Entirely up to you. Boudoir ranges from fully clothed (sweaters, jeans) to implied nude — you set the boundaries and a good studio never pushes past them. Most of our clients land in the middle: lingerie, sheets, tasteful implied nudes.

What is taken off for boudoir photos?

Short answer: Only what you’re comfortable with — which might be nothing at all. Plenty of clients shoot entire sets in lingerie, bodysuits, or an oversized shirt. Nudity is always your choice, never an expectation.

Why do women do boudoir shoots?

Short answer: Milestone birthdays, post-divorce fresh starts, wedding mornings, reclaiming confidence after kids or illness — and increasingly, just because. Most of our clients book for themselves first. If it becomes a gift, that’s a bonus.

Is boudoir photography still popular?

Short answer: More than ever. It’s grown from a niche wedding gift into mainstream self-celebration. Our studio books months out — we’re currently booking Spring 2027.
